To provide humanitarian assistance
 
Every day thousands of people die of hunger, find themselves without shelter or without adequate care. Natural disasters, famines and wars are three examples that can lead to human beings in situations that no longer enable them to survive on their own.
The humanitarian actions carried out by the UTA are responses to the distress caused by this kind of crisis. As stated in our Charter, we are strengthening North-South cooperation to solve international economic, social and humanitarian problems, to save people, to help them rebuild their lives and to try to give them hope in the future.
 
Promotion of Sustainable Development

Cities are the engines of economic growth. They are the theater of rapid urbanization,  as well as the rise of the middle classes and the demographic expansion. These three megatrends exacerbate the degradation of the global environment, but they are only part of the immense challenge facing cities today.

A new road map for the UTA on sustainable development!

In September 2015, we adopted the Sustainable Development Agenda by 2030. It is an agenda for people, for the planet, for prosperity, for peace and for partnerships. It provides a vision for transforming our world by eradicating poverty and ensuring its transition to sustainable development.
 
North-South cooperation for development
 
The next five years will be crucial for North-South cooperation for development. One of the major challenges for UTA will be the negotiation of a universal framework for poverty eradication and sustainable development
Our new roadmap announces a new strategy and action plan to ensure basic living conditions, promote inclusive and sustainable growth, contribute to the sustainable management of our natural resources, guarantee justice, equity and equality and take into account the particular situation of countries in conflict and situations of fragility ....
